Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

We'll be updating you with New Year's Eve locations after the weekend, but until then, enjoy Christmas weekend with family and friends.

Yeah, it's gonna be crazing boring if you're Jewish, but there's plenty of movies to watch: Shape of Water, Downsizing and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. So have some Chinese food and we'll probably get back to you on Tuesday.

Wilshire Grand Center Has A Light Show For New Year's Eve

Wilshire Grand Center's first New Year is gonna be bright as the sophisticated lighting in it will make it a spectacle downtown this New Year's.

The people behind what's gonna be shown off explain below:

"Starting at 6:00 p.m. PT on New Year’s Eve, the 73-story vertical spine of the Wilshire Grand Center will begin filling-up with color incrementally in perfect synchronization with the passage of time. Each hour, there will be a momentary variation and a foreshadowing of what’s to come. Exactly at 11:59 p.m. PT, a bold, clear 60-second countdown will begin on the crown signage display on both sides of the building. The brilliance of the Wilshire Grand Center’s crown signage will make the countdown visible for an approximate 15 mile radius surrounding Los Angeles. At midnight, a surprise grand finale will usher in the New Year."-StandardVision

That sounds awfully nice. So if in the downtown area on New Year's Eve you only have to look up to see how much longer until it's 2018 or your phone or watch, but this way is a lot cooler.

X-Mas Tale or A Christmas Tale It's Still Or Top Christmas Horror Film To Watch This Holiday

The only place you'll be able to catch this sucker is streaming on Amazon. Called X-Mas Tale or A Christmas Tale, depending on the disributor, it's a classic holiday tale taking place in the 80's though it came out in 2005 in Spain as part of a made for TV selection of horror films. Oh, yeah, this is one of those hard to find gems of strange and in the Christmas spirit.

Set around a group of young elementary school kids on holiday break who happen to find Santa trapped in a hole in the woods. The kids at first think Christmas is over...at least for whoever dressed liked Santa. Turns out Santa is still alive and a lady. Things get a little less jovial when it turns out that this lady has also stolen millions. Now the kids want Santa's package and won't get help for this thief until they get the money.

Thus begins a wonderful Christmas adventure of torturing Santa in a hole in the ground. This Santa is marking these kids as naughty. Will lady Santa give in and get out of the hole or will she get some revenge for how badly she was treated?

It's always a good start to a story that the kids and look of the film were some damn fun and entertaining that adding a horror element was just an extra topping. You'll like the cast of kids just like your watching Stranger Things or The Goonies and with the 80's nostalgia heavy in the film, if you're from that era, you'll really get into it.

Strangely enough the lead little girl, Ivana Baquero is the star of Pan's Labyrinth as pointed out by a friend during a Christmas party watching.

Now for those who love horror or the 80's kids film, your set. This has some definite painful moments to see and some wonderful team work and planning, as only little kids can do, with a huge set piece of an abdanoned water park towards the end.

You've seen this film before as it clearly draws from so many 80's and 90's classic, but never with the plot point of an ever angrier growing murderous Santa trapped in a hole by some brats. Santa's not coming down any chimney's, she's coming to get you and your little friends in the abandoned water park with an axe!

Adventure Time Time: New Game, New Boat

Adventure Time: Pirates Of The Enchiridion is headed for the high seas of gaming! Yeah, boy, we got a new game in development from another studio we haven't heard of-what happened WayForward?-called Climax Studios in England. The game sets sail next year sometime in the Spring and will be on all the current consoles and PC. From the look of it, it's kind of hard to tell, as 3D with Adventure Time is never that great a gamble, of how good the game will be.

The game has some stuff going for it including the real cast voicing it. It looks like you'll be exploring Ooo with a crew of Finn, Jake, BMO and Marceline and be able to upgrade them after battles for more battles. That's really all the details so far.

There is a competition right now to name the boat they're sailing on in the game. The name portion ends January 2nd and then voting takes place the 5-10th of January 2018. We suggest BoatyMcBoatFace as it worked out so well in the real world when people in England tried to name a real boat that.

Teen Titans Go! Is Christmas For Cartoon Network

We think they've already had two marathons of every episode ever this year already. Either a cry for help or Cartoon Network sharing with us in the knowledge that ratings will not change no matter the content they broadcast.

Die Hard Has Never Been So Sexy

These girl versions of John McLaine and "Dutch" are giving us weird feelings from the John McTiernan Art Show from Hero Complex Gallery. Ben Newman, we know you're into some dirty anime by just looking at these pieces.

We still love the piece from Aureilo Lorenzo below.

Watch: The Hawkins Family Yule Log & Mega64 Chrsitmascast 2017

If you want your Yule Log in the background of your party or get-together to have some horror themed mirth, look no further than the extremely slow-to burn story of The Hawkins Family Yule Log. This Christmas will forever be changed as the Hawkins family is guarding dark secrets that seem to keep getting bigger and bigger at the fire burns ever so slowly. A great little piece to be playing in the background to see if your friends will notice. It is rated R as it's not family friendly at all towards the end.

The other video to watch in bizarre glee shares the annual "horrible" Christmas episode for the Mega64 crew, mainly known for video game skits. Their annual Christmas podcast episode has nothing to do with video games, but they are playing a game, an eating contest. If you think things will ramp up and get really disgusting...then you're right.

We're Really Wasting Time With This? Vegan Meals For Shelter Dogs

In what many would consider a huge waste of time and resources, I mean we almost thought it was from The Onion, comes this wonderful article from the Daily News on how our city will wait sixty days to hear if vegan diets for dogs in our pounds would be okay for them. Right now, with all the current data, the answer is a big NOOOOOOOOO!

"Chief Veterinarian Jeremy Prupas’ board report, citing three clinical nutritionists affiliated with veterinary schools at UC Davis and the University of Pennsylvania along with a shelter medicine specialist and a veterinary toxicologist, wrote that none of them “thought it would be a good idea to feed shelter dogs a vegan diet.”
The article is a great read on the bizarre group of people who could be doing so much more with their lives, but have decided that at this point at time in history with so many other problems we should switch the dog food we give to strays with zero evidence that it would be healthy for them.

LA will study pros and cons of switching shelter dogs to vegan diets

Star Wars The Last Jedi Ruined For Some @ AMC Burbank 16

As reported by the Daily News, one of Thursday's special showings of Star Wars The Last Jedi was ruined by a lack of audio. Yes, attendees on Twitter say the film was without sound for 10-20 minutes. AMC wouldn't restart the film as it would break their schedule, but did try and compensate fans by getting them into other screenings that night, Friday night or just giving them a refund.

Things can go wrong, but many wonder why AMC didn't just restart the film and skip the trailers for the next showing, thus keeping to schedule.

You can see in the video below how unhappy fans were
