Adventure Time Time: The Movie

Time for the one sentence of info on the Adventure Time film. Cartoon Network is working with Warner Bros to make a Adventure Time movie , produced by Chris McKay and Roy Lee, from the Lego Movie. Wow Warner Bros, way to do something good again. You had the Lego Movie and know this, so like two things. There are no other details online at this time, everything else will be an article with worthless facts you already know if you're a fan.

Update: Here's a good example of a post on the film just arguing if it's too late for a film to be popular when it's release,
The "Adventure Time" Film May Be Too Little, Too Late

It has no new information, just speculation from the writer based on Cartoon Network's very shoddy history of releases an overall crappy handling of everything it does.

Will of course update you with more info comes in.

Murder LA 000069

Unfortunately, Murder LA is going on hiatus. Some life events converged and I just don't have time any more. We're not a sentimental column here so I'll just say it's been a fun couple of years and hopefully we can share stories again in the future.

Here's one for the road:

Chen Chao Ming was arraigned Wednesday, February 25th for murder with a special circumstance of torture and animal cruelty. He pleaded not guilty.

The murder in question was the asphyxiation of his mother, Yi Tung Weng, who was visiting from Taiwan. Reportedly the torture element involved a hammer and a nail.

According to The China Post, Ming called 911 to report his mother's death as a suicide but investigators didn't buy it.

LA Times reports that police investigators were "traumatized" by the scene at the 22-year-old international student's apartment, in the 1300 block of Figueroa, downtown. That seems to place it across the street from the LA Convention Center.

The animal cruelty charge is because supposedly at some point Ming threw his own cat out of a window. No word on whether it survived.

Usually by now TV news would have found the suspect's school and interviewed random students about how they feel, but details are surprisingly scarce at this point.

Comic Hype: Speedball's Cat Saved From Execution

Everly and Maps To The Stars Out Friday Don't See Them

Everly, a Salma Hayek film where she play a prostitute, gets a gun and revenge and Maps To The Stars, Croneberg's weird take on Hollywood comes out this Friday. Both are about our city, both suck and are hardly watchable. Don't see them. Wait to rent or a comedian to make fun of.

Everly is just predictable.

Maps To The Stars does make fun of Hollywood for how fake it is, which has been over and over that it is redundant to see at this point. The film is made as though it was still the 90's, not the setting just at how it looks and it's written.

Level 257, An Arcade Bar Well Outside of LA

Namco of America might be based in California, but it's first arcade in the states is in Chicago. We've had our fair share of arcade bars open up in the last two years; will we see anything like Level 257? We have Round 1s on the outskirts of LA, in places we would beg newcomers not to visit if our lives were more like a dystopian film. Don't head to Pomona, you'll die there newcomer! We have new barcades downtown, Hollywood and even in the valley. We have nothing like Level 257.

Put together an arcade, diner, bar, ping pong club, board game house and bowling alley all with a theme loving Pac-Man and you'll have a sense of this newly opened entertainment center in Chicago. Like previous barcades it has theme drinks and a few past titles to plat.

What sets it apart is it's style. Unlike America, Japan has arcades still going. Namco has a huge history and infrastructure from Japan to make an almost Pac-Man themed barcade stay busy. One of the ideas made real to have you gobbling up the food like Pac-Man is a special arcade unit. Level 255 is a special arcade unit that puts you in the Pac-Man game all the way towards the end. Fan might know that the game only had so much memory when it came out. If you got far enough in the game it would start being corrupted. You'd get the maze and strange messed up version of Pac-Man to play. You can now get to that screen much faster. For the barcade they've added a special level that looks a Pac-Man themed diner. You have to get to Level 257 to reach it.

Robin Thicke Terrible Role Model

Robin Thicke is currently being sued for allegedly stealing from Marvin Gaye's "Gotta Give It Up" for his song "Blurred Lines." In the trial so far there have been many great moments of Robin Thicke being a terrible role model for children. We take them for the LA Times article on it.

"Thicke told the federal jury that he was drunk and high on drugs during those interviews, and that he was trying to take credit for some part of the song that had become the biggest hit of his career even though Williams wrote it on his own."

"Thicke said statements he filed in court papers about having written some of the verses were incorrect‎, and that he'd lied to Oprah when he told her half of his music was inspired by Gaye."

Pearl Necklace Oscar Dress Stolen

The $150,000 priced dress of Lupita Nyong'o, that turned heads at the Oscars, has been stolen from her at the London West Hollywood hotel. Detectives are investigating.

How the Hell you would fence the dress when it's so well known makes it possibly the dumbest heists in years, unless we are dealing with real super criminals.

Scr*w You David Fincher The Next Aliens Film Forgets Your Movie

In a recent video circling online, it's been revealed that Neill Blomkamp's' next Alien film will forget Aliens three and four. It's essentially a big f*ck you to the directors and writers of those films. They were hated so much by fans that they are to be forgotten. I remember James Cameron being asked about the franchise at an LA screening, he directed the second film in the series. He was not going after Fincher directly for his overall work, but he did say how important it is to keep the characters from previous installments in the film. You have to love those characters or at least know fans want to see them again, is what he basically said.

Fincher did not. Don't cry for Fincher, he owns House of Cards.

But please, please have a marine named Fincher get killed by a xenomorph in the next film, Niell. Just have his shirt have Fincher on it.

*Neill could do a terrible job at this, Chappie isn't looking too great and Elysium was terrible.

Dot Arcade Coming To Wii U

James Montagna is bringing the the dot matrix printer of gameplay to life with his newest solo title Dot Arcade. This game brings the feel of old arcade cabinets with all graphics just being simple dots. Games will take on simple shapes. The question is will it be entertaining? Bringing the musical bleeps is Andrew Lim, another veteran of the video game scene.

James told Destructoid that the game is completely finished and is just waiting for a release date from Nintendo. It's comprised of three games Mr. Snake, Dodge Club, and Rally Driver. I know some old school friends who will just love it.
