Sundance Next Fest Aug 7-10

We are a movie town and with that we reap some of the best pieces of cinema to hit the country. We might not get Sundance, but we get something next to it.

Sundance Next Fest
Aug 7-10
Hollywood Forever Cemetery
The Theatre at Ace Hotel

Sundance Next Fest showcases some of the more bold movies that came out of Sundance this year. Check up on the full line-up here. The films screen only once and are accompanied by a musical act or conversation that connects to the film. It wouldn't be LA with an added bonus, a Napoleon Dynamite 10 Anniversary Screening at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

The top choice film from TTDILA is of course a zombie film. Here's the synopsis
Friday, August 8, 8:00pm Theatre at Ace Hotel
Life After Beth / U.S.A. (Director and screenwriter: Jeff Baena) — Zach is devastated by the unexpected death of his girlfriend, Beth. When she mysteriously returns, he gets a second chance at love. Soon his whole world turns upside down... Cast: Aubrey Plaza, Dane DeHaan, John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, Cheryl Hines, Paul Reiser. LOS ANGELES PREMIERE

There's also "The Guest" from director Adam Wingard, known for his indie horror film You're Next. The Guest is looking to be no way as funny, but suppose to be a new take on the thriller.
