CIA, NSA and FBI Wastes Time Playing Video Games

The New York Times has a story on how American and British "intelligence" agencies tried to find links to terrorism and crime by playing online video games including World of Warcraft.

Love it's title

Spies’ Dragnet Reaches a Playing Field of Elves and Trolls

The results were almost nill, though the British did manage to get a crime ring not related to terrorism through Second Life. The amount of time and money wasted on spying in-game is laughable, if not so sad.

This comes from another release from the Snowden files that are released slowly over time making Christmas just terrible for so many of our government agencies. Agencies that waste our money making fake accounts and posing as other bad guys wanting in on some terrorism action. So many fake agents were playing a group had the job to start monitoring if you were an agent or not, because too many times agents would accidentally interact with each other.
