Halloween 2013: News Two Months Before Halloween

Yes, it's early for news on Halloween, but we just had a convention for it in August with Scare LA. I'll have future updates as Halloween draws closer and I agree, it's a bit crazy to write about it now, but there's deals on tickets if you buy them in advance and some people like planning way into the future.

Let's go by familiar haunts.

Universal Halloween Horror Nights

Black Sabbath: 13 3D is coming to Universal for Halloween Horror Nights, a maze based on a heavy metal band is always a dark combination.

"This year, guests will be engulfed in a nightmarish landscape of doom as they enter the maze “Black Sabbath: 13 3D” and cross through horrifying graveyards, disturbing madhouses and bone-chilling battlefields. The new maze will also be the only attraction to incorporate a 3D video, which will show scenes inspired by their recent #1 Billboard album, “13”. The legendary multi-platinum rock band pioneered the Heavy Metal genre with their doom-laden sounds so Tony Iommi’s dark, iconic riffs, Ozzy Osbourne’s haunting vocals and Geezer Butler’s sinister lyrics provide endless inspiration for a blood-curdling maze."

This with the news of a maze for The Walking Dead and the new Evil Dead have fans of television and film gripping their hearts with sheer joy of being scared.

In other big news, they're starting early this year Friday, September 20, 2013.It's understandable that place gets packed.

Los Angeles Haunted Hayride 2013

They've chosen a theme of "Based On Actual Events" and are starting Oct 4, be on the look out for deals leading up to the event..

The folklore and legend of "the real" births more terror than any horror mastermind can fabricate. The grounds of Griffith Park and beyond have been home to murder, torture, paranormal activity, serial killers, and abduction. The area surrounding the "Old Zoo" and "B Rock" has been called one of the most paranormally active sites in all of California. Now these and other actual events will come back to life, opening the portal to a river of lost souls that scream for revelation. They are dark. They are vicious. They are all around you.
Tonight, we call on the hauntings of the real terror in history to rise from the darkest corners of hell to take possession OF YOU! Welcome to the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride 2013: "Based On Actual Events"

 The Purge: Fear the Night

From Blumhouse Productions and Blackout comes a American mode of horror as they bring The Purge to life. Based on the film The Purge: Fear the Night will have you participating in a meeting of Americans who love The Purge, twelve hours where all crime is legal in the US. Some Americans aren't happy about it and they'll be bringing up at the meeting. Did I mention the Purge is in full affect during the proceedings? The Founder’s Convention at the Founding Fathers Headquarters should be a night to remember what it means to be an American in a dystopian future America.

This is not a haunted house, but a interactive horror play you experience, it kind of makes me feel like a Bioshock Infinite party could have happened for it's release.

Happening at the Blumhouse's Haunt location of last year the Variety Arts Theater starting Sep 27. 18+
