Video Games & Cosplay This Weekend

Sunday, March 6, 2011 2:00 pm

El Portal Theater
5269 Lankershim Blvd
North Hollywood, CA 91601
(818) 508-0281
Tickets Cost: $8.00 - $25.00

This sounds like fun. Cosplayers are asked to perform skits and  famous voice actors judge them. Which voice actors? Yelp said   Artists who voice some of the most popular characters on TV and the internet will entertain and "meet and greet" their fans, as well as guest judge and crown the "best costume" and "best act" winners. They include Tom Kenny (Spongebob Squarepants), Rob Paulsen (Animanics, Pinky and the Brain, TMNT), Jess Harnell (Animanics, Drawn Together), Candi Milo (Dexter's Laboratory, Fosters) and Charlie Schlatter and Matt Jones (Disney's Kick Buttowski).

They also just confirmed Tara strong.

So god knows what people will be wearing and what they're doing, but it sounds like a lot of fun.

This was made thanks to Fire Rose Productions which is a non-profit, so help-em out.

from yelp
over 40 classic arcade machines and dozens of vintage home consoles to the exhibit floor for 12 hours of pure, nonstop gaming. Live music, featuring 8-bit and chiptune artists, will begin late in the evening. An all-videogame version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" will challenge your knowledge of gaming trivia. Traditional SC3 attractions, including SC3-TV, '80s music, a video game trading room, and Rock Band .

Man, that does sound like a great gamer activity. From what i've read this thing might get packed even though most game company people are at the GDC.  Nucleus somewhat knows how to throw a party, so get down there this weekend.

Plus, chiptune music, here's whose playing
